Re: Limited Run
Yeah, don't pay attention to the order number; they did 5000 of each split into two allotments. It did seem to sell out slower than the others; I BARELY got Saturday Morning RPG for Vita and had to go on eBay to get it for PS4 (because I make bad decisions), but I was able to get Oddworld on both no problem.

Re: Limited Run
I was going to try for these, but managed to be busy during both batch releases. Never mind I guess.

Re: Limited Run
I was teaching a class during the first batch. I said "Hold on, guys. Chill for a minute," pulled out my phone, and stopped class for about five minutes to buy them.alienjesus wrote:I was going to try for these, but managed to be busy during both batch releases. Never mind I guess.

Re: Limited Run
Seems like there are still some PS4 copies floating about.
Shame I wanted the Vita version

Re: Limited Run
Actually it was 2500 copies for Vita and 5000 for PS4 like Jmustang1968 mentioned. That's why the Vita version sold out so much faster.

As for why the run sold out so slow this time it is because it is much larger then the previous runs. In fact the PS4 version alone almost had as many copies available as all of the previous runs combined and since it's still available this morning I don't think they will shoot for another 5000 print run for a while.
Limited Run #1: Breach & Clear (PS Vita)- 1500 copies
Limited Run #2: Saturday Morning RPG (PS4)- 1980 copies
Limited Run #3: Saturday Morning RPG (PS Vita)- 2500 copies
Total copies between 1-3 = 5980 copies (limited editions shared the same pool of copies as the standard only the cds were exclusive)
Limited Run #4: Oddworld: New N' Tasty (PS4)- 5000 copies
Limited Run #5: Oddworld: New N' Tasty (Vita)- 2500 copies
Total for runs 4-5 = 7500 copies
Upcoming
Limited Run #6: Futuridium EP Deluxe (PS4) - 2000 copies
Limited Run #7: Futuridium EP Deluxe (Vita) - 2000 copies
On another note the 1 copy rule looks like it's gone from the PS4 page which is confusing. Maybe they dropped it in an effort to sell of the extra but there is no notice confirming that so I don't think anyone would risk cancellation for another copy.

Re: Limited Run
Word has it they're removing the 1 per person cap on that next release. It will be an asshole frenzy of scalpers having them up on ebay before the burn marks cool on their credit cards for 2x or more the real value.
It would be amusing if with the gaming press a concerted effort could be made to punish Limited Games for doing that so that honest buyers don't purchase it and the filth can sit on their flips. If people stop taking interest in their games enough and scalpers see a lack of a worthy profit margin that'll teach them a lesson where it counts most -- the wallet.

Re: Limited Run
Really with the runs around 2k-3k the 1 per person rule they should have no problem selling out in a few hours. Putting out 5k and expecting it to go in a single day is a bit much though. Maybe they were fishing to see how large the market is.
I hope they keep the 1 per person per platform rule up though without it scalpers will basically be crashing the site every time a sale opens then flipping for 2-3x the retail value solely based around the fact that they guarantee no reprints.
Edit: I kind of wish they would drop the n0 reprints rule and instead offer some form of "Selects" or "Greatest Hits" versions later for people who miss out. That way the original prints would still be limited collector's items but everyone would have a chance to get in on the games even if they missed the initial batch.

Re: Limited Run
Logical, but logic escapes them as well as making more money. IT's not like Watermelon is hurting for it. Look at Pier Solar, what is that up to now 4 or 5 runs on the Genesis that sold through? 2-current have their own style, and the original release is quite unique and holds a unique value to those wanting to eat it now to buy one (not that the other runs are bottom price valued either once they're sold out.)
I don't see why doing a remaster setup where they just keep a slow flow of them coming out as they sell through in bundles or a trickle would offend any uptight collector if it appeared different in some form both on the rom board itself(or disc or card) as well as the box/paperwork like on the cover. Same art, same contents, just black border it or change the color of the title lettering on things and etch a v1 vs v2..3..4 on the white ink on the board itself. Everyone wins, they get paid, people get a game, collectors get their money value they only care about. Limited runs are a shit thing to do that are 100% self serving garbage that forces people to take a break, a day off, whatever to sit and watch to click the crap out of something before it sells out in 5 minutes or they end up paying 2-4x the real value to some douche who flips.

Re: Limited Run
Actually man I thought they handled the ps4 release this time really well. It lasted long enough for most to get a copy. Also, twice in one day gave most people a chance. A pre order system would be nice but I can cope with it in its current state.
