I hadn't even realized that and looked it over when I last posted. As it is, if they don't put coin vouchers in the physical boxes I'll be earning nothing. I will not buy a game digital ever if I can not 100% control it (like GoG.com games) and will go physical every time. I've even had Steam games, then when they went on GoG erased(hid) them after buying the GoG version during some seasonal deep cut (75%+ off) sale.

Being required to make e-shop purchases for gold coins as opposed to physical ones is a bit of a ball-ache just because I personally prefer owning physical copies of things, but from Nintendo's perspective, they have no reason not to heavily promote their e-shop in ways like this. It just means they get so much more money for their games compared to selling them through GameStop or some other retailer, and it stops someone else from just buying your used copy if you decide to sell it afterwards.

I don't exactly like that gold coins work that way, but I totally understand why they're doing it.

Yeah, it's a really smart move on their part - it's not like we physical folks are going to stop buying their games just because we don't get extra rewards for doing it physically - but it definitely feels like a bit of a "screw you" to the physical crowd. Oh well; I bought games after Club Nintendo went down and got no rewards at all then either physical or digital. I'll keep doing it now.

I do, however, with that they would give you some credit for games bought digitally after Club Nintendo was discontinued (it's not like the exact date of the purchase isn't recorded on your account). Kind of like punishing us for continuing to buy their games after we stopped being rewarded for it. They gave bonus platinum coins for being a previous Club Nintendo member; why not give us some gold coins for buying digital games in the interim period? I probably spent $100 if not more on the eShop during that time frame.

On one hand I think you're totally wrong due to just internet speed limits vs peoples patience. But, I also almost hope you're right too.

It would help me cold turkey Nintendo when it comes to future systems making things less expensive for me and less distraction too having the need to feel to buy from one less game maker (and I would do it.) At least I'd have an end point with Gamecube as it stands now and given all that has existed through that console including handheld, it's a lifetime worth of discovery and enjoyment / re-enjoyment.

So finally got it working. Can't speak for the mynintendo stuff as I live in Vietnam so physical stuff is pointless so not interested in any of that. But Miitomo is awesome, really funny, doesn't require a huge time investment and your Miis just do their own thing which is even better. I'll be using this for a while if I can get a bunch of friends involved

I really hope you are wrong. My internet speed sucks and that would be a total downer. I hate digital for that very reason if not the fact I'm loving getting these physical games especially with the extra stuff(even though nintendo screwed us with Xeno X's usb >_> should've just found a way to put the real 4 cd track in there). By the way we need to meet up so I can do my in person add (I'm very serious though I don't know who else to do it on XD)

@flash I'd hope I find some more friends for it too. So far between facebook and twitter 1 friend has joined miitomo.

Given the backlash that the Xbox One got for its original "always online" requirement, I don't think that the market is ready yet for a console that requires you to be online in order to buy games.

I'd rather see them attempt a console that allowed for VB type accessory. I'd guarantee that'd do better now than a fully digital console.

I know that exists but it's too freaking expensive it's like buying a whole console when you're just buying the goggles to handle the VR XD
