I ended up buying the CycloDS with the EZFlash 3 in 1 expansion pack from realhotstuff.com. It was 80 shipped 2nd day DHL. It sounds like this will be a nice solution.

the official ones come with a usb wire to charge a ds lite. did you get one of those?

ummm ... no ... because they don't come with any sort of charger anymore. You should do some reading over on GBAtemp

I'm planning on buying an R4 card for my DS, but I have no idea which cards were compatible with the DS or how it even works. I've been looking on eBay. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Id go with the DSTT at this point in the game. Its (IMO) a little better then the R4 and much cheaper.

My girlfriend is playing her DSTT right now. It's pretty annoying. Her first gaming console ever and first RPG (Phantom Hourglass). "I'm stuck" "Can you help me?" *sigh* lol
