Re: Self-intro + my retro review blog! The Annals of Retrodo
I've gotten really lazy about taking screenshots lately...

Taking and choosing screenshots is one of my favorite parts of blogging! Though eventually I'll write about games I'm playing natively, or games that have iffy emulation... and I'll just have to source them from Moby or something.
I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.

I enjoy the selecting of screenshots, but the way I acquire them is not super convenient:

(Also I'm lazy)
So sometimes I'll just end up going back and adding a bunch of screenshots to already published articles in one sitting.
I've been cropping pics from the back of box art lately on the front page though, which I think is kind of a neat, low-fi look. Sort of shitty but cool in a 90's sort of way?

With my blog I think I have (semi-consciously) avoided games where it'd be harder to take screenshots. I do have the methods - both a capture card and DVD recorder - but I'm lazy.

I feel like a capture card would be easier for me. But I don't really know much about that route.

Ahh yeah I like those box art screenshots there. They go with your physical copy pictures perfectly.
I mostly use emulators for my shots. Though for my upcoming FFVII series, I at least have the option of PS4 share button. A problem I have is with Vita... to take a screenshot (native Vita games only, ugh), you have to press start and home at the same time. it's cumbersome, and half of my shots end up being the pause screen...

Random game review!
I think the only reason I did this was because it was a game I owned and played a lot as a kid. I haven't seen much about this game, Ex-Mutants, online... neither good nor bad, but I like how authentic it feels.

I loved the write ups on Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. I agree that Sonic 2 is quite easy and I also find that is why I enjoy it so much too.

Thanks! More Sonic games are coming... eventually. I'm in the middle of Sonic 3 and Knuckles (the & Knuckles part, specifically), but I got kinda sidetracked... the truth is, I don't like it as much as the other games. And then I realized to be more chronological I should do Sonic CD and Spinball first.
