Bizarre 32X/MD overclock issue
Re: Bizarre 32X/MD overclock issue
I never had much experience with the Neo Geo growing up, save for the odd arcade cabinet. I'm a big Sega fanboy, though, the Mega Drive is about as close to perfection in consoles as it gets. There's something about hand drawn low resolution sprites that carry a charm that you just don't get anymore, it's like an art style.
Re: Bizarre 32X/MD overclock issue
Update: I fixed the issue. I redid my overclock mod, used some fresh wire and cut them as short as they could possibly go, and I grabbed the original clock speed from underneath the board as opposed to from the solder pad underneath leg 15 on the CPU, and the 32X runs without issue on stock frequency. Still having glitching issues with the overclock itself, but I suspect that is due to a very cheap oscillator, so I'll either change it for a more stable one or run it through a Schmitt trigger before it inputs to leg 15. Also added a halt switch for good measure whilst I was at it.
