im talking about Obama, and he actually has a chance at winning.

is it really worth it this time to vote for our american hero ralph nader this time when we potentially may have a new american hero Obama?
I really want Obama to win... Not because I give a damn about politics but because it would be cool to have a black dude in the Oval Office~ Take that conservative America!

I wrote him in for the 96 and 00 elections, I voted Kerry in 04, just so we could be done with Bush.... and won the general election.... but not the electoral.

maybe 2 years ago I saw him speak in person, great experience, genius of a man

I actually like Clintion and Obama, not anywhere near as much as Nader tho.... but I don't want McCain to win

so am I going to write in Nader this time? I will probably vote for the Democrat nominee just to get the GOP out of the oval office

and I had no idea there were Nader supporters here, cool to know =)

Today's fun fact! Ralph Nader received .3% of votes last time he ran.

PS. Ron Paul is still in it. Apparently his seat in congress is being threatened by a competitor. FYI.

and now that I have looked at the draftnader page... I am going to write in nader again.
the only times I have really felt like I have waisted my vote, is when I have voted for someone who didn't represent me. I am tired of justifying a bad vote to keep someone worse out.

*slaps forehead*

Nader has done great things as an activist, but the love of God, no. Just no. Sorry, that's just how I feel.

However, I don't think he'll get near the amounts of votes or attention he got in 2000, and it wasn't very much back then. He will not be a spoiler this time simply because he won't get enough votes to play such a role.

Does anyone else get the feeling he just keeps doing this to feed his own ego?

Actually for nearly the last 2 decades the Green Party has attempted drafting him... he joins in due to this, because so many people write in saying they want him as president.

Now that number of people may not seem significant enough in the large scope of being elected... but on the activist front and independent party scope it is large enough to raise many eyebrows. You are talking about a party system who nearly ignores the 3rd party vote vehemently. I'm proud to say I vote 3rd party because one day I hope people will realize they have more then 2 choices. It is not a thrown away vote, it's voting for who you actually like.

I personally (and my mother as well) almost always write him in. My mother even so when he hasn't ran (I've only been able to vote in 2004, which he ran in). We both even send in emails to draftnader.org (well my mother hand writes, no comp at her house) and become one of those many who sign that petition saying they want him to run. It's less of a throw away then the people who voted "Optimus Prime" in 2004. Yeah it was a big online joke, but I know 5 people personally who actually wrote Prime in.

...
He could still be doing it for egotistical purposes. Either way, I really don't care. You think other nominees aren't narcasistic at all?
