Thanks to your advice, that's exactly what I did today. I've been wanting one for a long time but the prices were a bit high and I had no idea the different colors also had different screen quality. I wanted that GBA compatibility too. I got a decent deal, I'm super excited.Exhuminator wrote:I recommend buying a mint condition used Cobalt & Black DS Lite though. Those were the best DS Lites Nintendo ever made. They have the absolute best screens, and a matte finish on the bottom which makes holding them quite nice.
New DS Lite really this cheap?

Congratulations ExedExes. May it serve you well.
If you need any advice about anything related to the DS, just PM me. You could say I'm a bit well versed on the subject.
Also if you want any genre recommendations. The DS library is seriously vast, especially if you start including Japanese and European game releases in the mix.
It's the best handheld ever IMO. And that's hard for me to admit because the PSP and Vita are both spectacular.

OP these are legit but used Nintendo DS's in that listing, but they have new shells (non official) kind of misleading since one would assume if it was new it would come with the box and paperwork.

Re: New DS Lite really this cheap?
Funny thing is I just clicked this thread on a whim because it had DS Lite in the title. Like I said, I had a kinda-sorta passing interest in getting one but I only started GBA collecting in 2012 and I've amassed quite a decent library so I'm ready for something new, plus being able to play them here doesn't hurt either. I can see my wallet screaming bloody murder already. I haven't even finished finding stuff for NES, SNES and GBA yet.
But I know I can trust the members here for finding the best stuff, plus I see many games are quite affordable like much of the GBA stuff. I'll keep you in mind, after all, after GRAW, who better to trust?

I know this post was addressed to ExedExes, but I hope this offer extends to other members (i.e., me) as well.Exhuminator wrote: If you need any advice about anything related to the DS, just PM me. DS is my favourite console ever. The library is just amazing. It's the system I own the most games for too (and there's still ridiculous amounts I want). I have 90 games for it, which I'm sure pales in comparison to some people here!Exhuminator wrote:Congratulations ExedExes. May it serve you well.

Of course anybody who wants to know anything about the DS Lite or its upgrades feel free to ask me. I spent a good couple years being absolutely obsessed with this platform and its hardware. (I really should do a thread about obscure DS games some day.) This thing's library is gargantuan, only matched by the likes of the PS1/PS2 when considering international releases.adosmond wrote:I know this post was addressed to ExedExes, but I hope this offer extends to other members (i.e., me) as well.

You can find legit brand new/sealed DS Lite's here (South Africa) in the $70 range.

There are other places as well where it's not uncommon in finding them brand new at a sub $60 price point.

That's plenty cheap for new. It took so long to find one for myself because many of them had screen issues, loose hinges, no charger, etc. But the one I scored has all of that stuff in working condition.
