Speaking of which... Transformers: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron by the same developer are both excellent.

While I'm thinking about robots, have some licensed Super Famicom imports:

Jackie Chan's adventures on GBA is a rather good beat-em up and the Kim Possible games on handhelds are rather good platformers.

Cool spot if you count that.

I also played several good Spider-man games on GBA and DS (and the old Genesis one , Amazing Spider-man vs. the Kingpin I think, was also pretty good).

Sigh feel bad not mentioning Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, still have it from the talkie retail box back in the day too. Have to agree also with Sam & Max and most definitely that first Adventure Time game on 3DS, as it has to be played if you like the series or just like Zelda II.

Legitimately came back to this thread to say this.

If you haven't played Telltale's Sam & Max games, you owe it to yourself to. They almost always goes on sale, on the PSN store for like, $1.

N64 wrestling games are definitely at the top of this list for me. Especially WCW/NWO Revenge and WWF No Mercy. NFL Blitz also comes to mind.

Yeah, those games are great. I remember finding War for Cybertron at a pawn shop for $5. Totally worth it, it's an amazing game. :D

Anyone mentioned the FPS game based on Pitch Black? Also Bladerunner the adventure game is worth a mention. True to its source material both visually and aurally.

High Moon Studios' Transformers games are also pretty good, enjoyed them despite not being really a fan of the franchise. Check them out.

I hear mixed things about the sequels, but I'll definitely stick up for War for Cybertron. Fun stuff there.

I know it's not from a hidden franchise or anything, but I played the mess out of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. If you played it back in the day, I highly recommend giving it a shot. And yes, I used my beloved San Antonio Spurs for everything. Making it even better was unlocking David Robinson, so I could pair him with Duncan. (Wonder) Twin [T]owers, activate! :)

I'm assuming that the Batman games on NES aren't obscure enough to count. The first two are great in their own ways. Batman Returns is a decent Ninja Turtles-style beat-'em-up that paled a bit compared to the SNES game, but was still good.

Oh, yeah, and points for mentioning McDonald's Treasureland. It's a lot better than you'd expect. I also am pretty sure that Dynamite Headdy is using a modified form of that engine. And speaking of Treasure games, the Yu Yu Hakusho game they did on Mega Drive was a bit of a prototype Guardian Heroes, so major bonus points there.
