Recommend some awesome air flight combat kinda games?

GoG also has Strike Commander, which is more or less Wing Commander with F-16s.

If you are looking for arcadey stuff and haven't picked them up yet there is the Crimson Skies games as well as Tom Clancy's HAWX series.





I've also been meaning to try out Project Sylpheed but I've never got around to it. Not sure if you are looking at games set in space though.

Almost forgot the cool thing about the H.A.W.X games is they have co-op if you can find someone to play with.

Strike Commander is really sweet especially if you're looking for something more arcadey yet still a flight sim.

It has a nice Wing Commander 2 style animated story as well.

This game is seriously underrated and costs next to nothing. It's like Omega Boost meets Shadow Squadron. The story is the most generic anime you can imagine but the action is intense. It gets a little repetitive but blowing huge capital ships to smithereens is awesome.

They are two different games in the same universe. But the xbox version is considered to be better by most people.

If you can only pick one, Wings of Prey is exactly what you want. Its WW2, arcadey with a hattip toward realism. Sadly it is the only one out of the bunch that will need a more up to date pc

Wing Commander 1+2 and their addon packages. All up on GoG for almost nothing, yet the amount of hours you'll put on it you'll think you robbed them blind the quality is that good. Same can be said for both Tie Fighter and XWing games too also on GoG.

I played the PC version and loved it. Agree might be an issue on modern PCs. Of note if you can get it running, it has decent resolution compared to some of the earlier games that have been mentioned.

Also have the Xbox version which plays equally well though not as many Flight Stick options without a PS2 adapter. If I remember right, you can download additional levels for the PC version. The Xbox has extra DLC multiplayer levels (can still be obtained thru magazine demos and online) as well.

Bet you never heard of Over G Fighters its for the Xbox 360 and is more towards the Flight Sim than Arcade but once you get a handle of things it smooths out and becomes something special In it's class. I recommend it.

That looks really fun. I've been looking for something along those lines. Definitely checking it out.
