A Gen 2 plug is fine on the Gen 3. It has a bit more amperage, but that's fine as the console will only pull what it needs. The Gen 3 plug is the same tip as the 2, but it is smaller with less amps, so you wouldn't want to use it on a 2 or any other Gen type things.

Listen to Hobie. He knows better than I do.

I can also confirm from experience, my friend in Japan gave me his Megadrive model 1 sans power adapter and I have been using the one from my US model 1 for years now with no issues. As long as you are using the right adapter for the right model not region. This guide is very helpful http://www.gametrog.com/GAMETROG/How_wh ... -s95j.htmlCrabmaster2000 wrote:Thanks Samson!!
Also a model 1 Genesis adapter will work with the Super Famicom, so that is also very handy.

Nothing yet, just acquired the system a few days ago. If it was as easy as using another power supply I already had I was thinking of keeping it and ordering a few exclusives. Any game suggestions?samsonlonghair wrote:I'm eager to hear how it worked out for you, Crabmaster. What games are you playing on your Mega Drive?
Thanks for the extra verification guys!
