Well i do that but not because "oh boy in 10 years i will be able to sell this for a bizillion dollars on ebay". I do it because it may be more expensive in a couple of years so i might as well get it now for cheap. And if i don't like i just traded it/sell it.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Yeah........... Which PS3 Titles Will Be Most Valuable?

I was just trying to get some tips on what to look out for in the wild. It would be stupid to pass up something for $4 if it's worth much more and I can add it to my collection for cheap.
I think any collector would agree.

I agree, and I think we are being a bit harsh here.Ashrei wrote:I was just trying to get some tips on what to look out for in the wild. It would be stupid to pass up something for $4 if it's worth much more and I can add it to my collection for cheap.

If I were you, and judging by the interests you have expressed in other threads, I would try to pick up PS3 exclusive JRPGs in complete condition. Some of them received very limited print runs, and JRPGs typically hold their value or appreciate more than games in other genres. Accordingly, if you see any Compile Heart games for a good price, you should probably pick them up.

Thanks man. I always appreciate your responses. I am mostly looking for JRPGs you're right about that. They are just so...well done. Usually. Adventure games are a close second.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I agree, and I think we are being a bit harsh here.Ashrei wrote:I was just trying to get some tips on what to look out for in the wild. Are there a lot of good JRPGs for PS3?

I was thinking Cross Edge etc. as well.Ashrei wrote: Accordingly, if you see any Compile Heart games for a good price, you should probably pick them up.
While I know this depends more on how the supply/demand goes in the future, but maybe picking up games which have become more of a 'cult' hit might be a good idea as well? Like Valkyria Chronicles, Nier, or Enslaved just to name a few.

Keep naming them. This is good advice right here.Solus_Emsu wrote:I was thinking Cross Edge etc. as well.Ashrei wrote: Accordingly, if you see any Compile Heart games for a good price, you should probably pick them up.

What about the Atelier series?
I see most of those $30+ at gamestop and Amazon.

Re: Which PS3 Titles Will Be Most Valuable?
This applies to more than just the PS3 but maybe it will help you out. If you want to play the odds on what will be valuable, focus on RPGs, fighters, limited/collector's editions, and games released near the end of a consoles lifecycle.
With fighters, I'd be very selective on which ones to pick up. Generally the last revision in the series is going to be the most valuable. For example, pick Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 instead of Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Also any digital game that had a limited physical print run. Class of Heroes 2G, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, import copy of Resident Evil HD remake, etc.

Re: Which PS3 Titles Will Be Most Valuable?
I would think that the Vita re-releases are going to at least temporarily blunt the value of the Atelier games. But I've been wrong before. When in doubt, though, if it's a niche company and an RPG, it's going to be worth something down the road.

Re: Which PS3 Titles Will Be Most Valuable?
Not gonna lie; I bought Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus around the time it came out, because I thought there could be a possibility of it being rare/expensive later.
Of course, I mostly bought it, as I just got a PS3, and I absolutely love Ratchet & Clank games, but a tiny reason I bought it is for that reason.
...Even thought it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
