Chipotle is marginally better because of fresher ingredients, and has an excellent playlist of overhead speaker music (at least at the one I go to).

Qdoba is also were silly people go to think they are being worldly and adventurous. I can not tell you how many people go there and do the, "So fresh," dance. It is kinda silly.

In all honesty, I wouldn't go to either and find yourself a really good mexican restaurant. They may be tough to find depending on your location, b ut if you find one...oh man....it is bliss.

We have an amazing Mexican Restaurant - "Mexico Lindo", when we go out, we usually go there or to "Big Daddy's Burgers" - both are local family owned joints.

Our kids are still younger though and don't really like authentic Mexican. I know neither of these places are amazing; but our kids want to try something that isn't "Mexico Lindo" or Burrito Union so they've narrowed it down to Qdoba or Chipotle...hence the disclaimer in the OP. We are going to one or the other - it's looking like Chipotle.

Never fully tried chipotle but from what I recall of Qdoba it's horrible at least compared to the local restaurant(even if it's not as cheap) called La Unica over here. Heck it's even better than Moe's(which oddly my sister has gotten sick the past few times she had tried to eat there on the way to dance practice so...yeah...)..

Never heard of Qdoba, but Chipotle has always been one of my favorites in particular for the size of the burrito and the taste. If you are ever in San Marcos, Texas you should check out Zookas as well.

Qdoba is OK. They have a few interesting options, but for straight-up burrito goodness, Chipotle is the easy winner. Their ingredient quality is damned high, and they have a few healthy options like brown rice for those who want them. If you don't get along with cilantro, however, you are doomed. I know some people who can't stand the chicken there, but I've had it and it's fine. Probably a mismatch between their preferences and the way the chicken is seasoned.

I typically skip the burrito and get a bowl (all the burrito stuff in a bowl instead of wrapped in a giant tortilla) to save calories so I can better enjoy the meat and veggies.

This is the reason I don't go to Chipotle. Every item is a cilantro bomb.

Hey if you're offering I'll try it!

Chipotle just tends to go overboard. Cilantro is very strong.
