So far honestly some of these runs have been less than amazing. I guess I don't appreciate the game breaking glitched runs of games. There doesn't seem to be anything remarkable to be honest. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.
Running a game legit and finding tricks that require a single frame is remarkable, some of the longer runs that require a programming glitch doesn't seem that incredible. Is anyone else of that opinion?
Speed Running Jak & Dexter, Animal Crossing, and now Metroid Prime have been underwhelming. Seems like you spend a considerable amount of time to more or less find something gamebreaking, and use that to "optimize" your time.
Love when people can beat a game legit and the run of it is exciting and interesting. Tasbot playing Pokémon was actually quite neat.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am not that much of a fan of the glitch runs. I very much enjoy the pure skill speed runs, like the Super Mario Bros. speed run, or the Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze speed run, which was in all honesty the big highlight of what I have seen so far. That was pure skill and the amount of commentary and thinking behind the choices made was genuinely interesting.
With Animal Crossing, I was seriously expecting a lot of exploits. What could really be done to speed run the game legitimately?

I'm just hoping the Majora's Mask and Link to the Past runs are legit runs. Super Metroid, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Ocarina of Time too.
