Don't buy it unless you really want the case. The soundtrack CD actually has only FOUR TRACKS and the art book is the worst kind and is fit only to kindle your fireplace.

The taro cards are nice but it's only half the set and there's not much you can do with them anyways.

I was hoping the taro cards would have some kind of AR functionality but unfortunately that's not the situation.

So one point of frustration for me: the step on every tile in the dungeon chests. Unlike EO I can't just map out the entire floor as I see it and more annoyingly, if I get killed after mapping a large portion of things I tend to not have it save my map since I'd have to erase all the stepped tiles anyway. At least when you try to open the chest it'll highlight the squares you haven't been on yet, in case you filled in a square you didn't stand on.

So how's the difficulty in this one MrPopo? I mean compared to EO for example.

I'm playing on Risky, the hardest difficulty. Risky includes the feature that if your MC dies then you automatically lose, like in the other Persona games. That adds some to the difficulty. In terms of comparing it to EO the start off is MUCH easier, since you start with abilities and the resources to use them, especially with their weakness system. The way it works is that if you hit an enemy's weakness or crit then you go into a boosted state. When you're boosted the action you take that turn will use no resources and consumes the boost. If you're hit while boosted you lose the boost. So when you're fighting random encounters who are weak to Lightning you can spam your Zio skill over and over in a single fight and you only spend the initial TP for the first cast.

Another feature that makes things easier from a resource management standpoint is the sub personas. Every character has their main persona that corresponds with their level and this gives them their primary abilities. Then each character can equip a sub persona as well, which gives them additional abilities (with a separate exp bar) and some additiona HP and TP. That bonus HP and TP is something you get at the start of the battle, so you basically have an HP and TP buffer that you're free to burn through in a fight and it doesn't cost you in the long run.

All that said, it's balanced out by things such as enemies having a ton of HP compared to EO enemies, so if you aren't able to strike weakness it takes quite a while to kill them (multiple turns with the entire party beating on a single enemy). It's definitely a case of proper party building to kill enemies quickly or they will destroy you.

Is it just me, or does that dialogue in PQ seem a little... off? Like, P3&4 had phenomenal translations that didn't feel like an ounce of character was lost, but PQ constantly feels like it is having things that are lost in translation, and the characters seem a lot flatter for it. That, and we get some absolutely baffling lines like "THE PENNY DROPS!" and "Strawberries! They're like berries full of straw!", which... I mean, come on, just try to think about that for a second!

I love the Persona series, but I'm having more trouble getting into Persona Q because of this.

Thanks for the info MrPopo. It kind of sounds like they took the Press Turn system and Persona's battle system and made a bit of a hybrid. I'm glad to see the mechanics are new for this game at any rate.
