Strange Genesis problem - cart not booting!

finally ended up buying a replacement (which is in rougher shape but works great).

Switch the better board into the nicer shell.

Way ahead of you .

Bothered me to do it though; the bad one has perfect shiny contacts and the good board's contacts look rough/stained even after a thorough cleaning.

But hey it was the cheapest way to restore both function and fashion to my collection.

The important question is... what are you going to do with the bad one now? Just tell me you'll pass it off to some one who can fix it, and not throw it in the trash, it'll help me sleep easy tonight.

I think we've already been through this Ziggy (I had one of those SNES problem topics):

I keep pretty much everything. I have several "project" items that I hope to bring back to life someday.
At worst, I will eventually post those items here as freebies for more capable tinkerers (or at least for the curious). And if my collection gets much bigger, I think I may have to.

So sleep peacefully knowing that I am a hopeless packrat .
