@anapan - well yea, I do kinda know what I want but i don't know what brands(or even lines within those brands) that people recommend and elsewhere tell you to "stay far away from". Or heck even which would be worth the cheap price tag if it were to come up...
edit: apparently I'd already done one(picked parts since I've been thinking about doing this but haven't really gotten around to it), but modified it, there's got to be something I can do to amke this a little cheaper(and yes it is amd fx but I heard that one is good and is a good deal cheaper...just don't know where to start to modify it and make it better for when/if I do start grabbing parts) :

Re: Help building pc
Pick a Brand and stick with it till it lets down, thats the trend i see alot on Newegg reviews, people instantly feel backstabbed when a Brand they use alot fails one day, then jump ship.darsparx wrote:@anapan - well yea, I do kinda know what I want but i don't know what brands(or even lines within those brands) that people recommend and elsewhere tell you to "stay far away from". Personally ive never recieved any parts from Newegg that were DOA or anything that has even died yet....
But my brands of choice right now are:
Power Supply - Corsair
Motherboard - ASRock or Gigabyte
RAM - GSkill or Corsair (you honestly cant go wrong with RAM)
GPU - Ive always been Radeon, never had a Geforce card, so im biased
HDD - Western Digital or Seagate, i prefer Seagate over WD atm
SSD - Got my eye on Samsung/Crucial/Intel brands for SSD, but have not owned one yet
Re: Help building pc
Funny that you mention some of those brands now because thanks to pcpartpicker my build kinda gravitated to some of those(which the graphics card in quite a few months will be upgraded if i can help it to at least 4gb...)

Yeah but I only picked it because I've heard of that brand before somewhere and I recall it being good(I think it was the last time I went messing with pc part picker just for fun since I couldn't think about buying a pc anyways or building one if we're honest).Hazerd wrote:Yeah i like MSI Motherboards too, they are doing some sweet things.
I think i came up with something feasable especially since i should have a little extra money next month due to overtime that was approved.
