Yes, the beloved developers of many of the most influential JRPGs of all time had humble beginnings of making cheesy basement dweller games where you put a puzzle together to see a girl in the bikini. (There's gotta be a joke to be made about BoneSnapDeez here, I just can't quite make it sound natural)
I knew about this game. And I have played it. Not Falcom's best.
Square and Enix (but not Square Enix) also developed eroge games back in the PC-88 days.
I think Tecmo would like everyone to forget about this:

OH GOD! I had forgotten about it until you necromanced it back from its unholy grave!BoneSnapDeez wrote: I think Tecmo would like everyone to forget about this:

The part that stings most is how damn proud Tecmo seemed of it. Hell "Tecmo" is technically part of the title and it's branded as being part of a "Tecmo RPG Series" (which of course never had another game beyond this one).

I like how somebody in marketing was suddenly, "SHIT! We need the word FANTASY in the title."BoneSnapDeez wrote:The part that stings most is how damn proud Tecmo seemed of it. What if Yu Suzuki made Shenmue as an autobiography, and has yet to fight his ailing arch-nemesis. But seriously Dave, troll more! It's a great game!

I honestly never even noticed that before. It really does seem like they tacked it on at the last minute.Gunstar Green wrote:I like how somebody in marketing was suddenly, "SHIT! I also am amazed at how horrible the cover art is. It looks like a Japanese manga and an American children's book had some unfortunate baby.

They needed to keep hold of it for the eventual release of Duke Nukem.
