Hmm, ok. I know he is planning to get it for the 360 or PS3, so I was thinking of that. I see where I may have misunderstood. But EA doesn't release games on the Wii U so yea he won't be buying anything from EA this gen.flex wood wrote:
If I remember correctly I don't think he has a PS4 or Xbone. Plus I am sure he knows EA games are going to be on PC, Xbone and PS4. He put Wii-U for a reason I would assume, otherwise why not just say "Looks like I won't be buying anything from EA this gen" and leave it at that.
EA not making handheld games anymore.

Haha yeah forgot about DA:I. I'll get that on 360.
EA has some Wii U games, right? Mass Effect 3 and a Need for Speed?

And nothing of value was lost.
Seriously, the amount of garbage EA dumped on handhels was absurd.

Sadly, yes. Well, at least the AAA publishers. Hopefully indie's won't be jumping ship anytime soon.ZeroAX wrote: I don't think I've ever bought a game from them on a handheld so I'll not miss them at all, but do you think we'll be seeing drying up support of handhelds by western developers?
Re: EA not making handheld games anymore.
That's not fair at all. I've played a few EA games for the Vita that were excellent. Their port of Need for Speed Most Wanted is stunningly good, and I was impressed with the time I've spent playing FIFA on the unit. They also had solid Burnout and Madden releases for the PSP.General_Norris wrote:And nothing of value was lost.

I can't speak to their DS stuff though.
I do hope they don't abandon iOS games, there are plenty of good EA titles in that library as well (e.g. the Dead Space game is excellent, the Mirror's Edge endless runner is well made, etc.).

Yeah, I was mainly thinking of DS releases, I don't know how good they were for Sony handhelds. Bone was kind enough to post a full list of EA releases on the DS and there's not a single game I would place above mediocrity.dsheinem wrote:I can't speak to their DS stuff though.

I'll reiterate that Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure was fantastic. The port of Theme Park was solid fun too.General_Norris wrote:Yeah, I was mainly thinking of DS releases, I don't know how good they were for Sony handhelds. That's still a very poor record. I think it's bullshit because they NEVER invested in the games. Their philosophy is the same everywhere. They launch a clone of steam, they don't offer anything new to make it stand out, they make facebook games, they just copy zynga the most "successful" publisher/developer for the platform, they make smartphone games, they just copy everything that is mildly successful (Dungeon Clash of Keeper Clans anyone?), and they complain about the lack of value in developing for handhelds, when they didn't bother making any handheld focused games. Even their PSP and PS Vita games are just ports of PS2/PS3 games.alienjesus wrote: I'll reiterate that Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure was fantastic. I guess they make some good console games, but man if that's not stupid (putting all your eggs in one basket) I don't know what is. Ubi-Soft at least tries.
