One player is the "Link", one player is Navi. Sort of like how Super Mario Galaxy did it with the Lumsomething, only instead of collecting star bits you push A to go "Hey, Listen!"

THIS would be fine with me, but not if it's completely different character. Link or Zelda, anything else and it just flat out isn't a Zelda game. Any company can make an adventure game in a fantasy setting with a horse, but it's the characters that fans want to see, not some random new protagonist.
