The odds that I will end up watching this movie are higher than I should probably admit.
I was an absolute nutzo-Sonic-fantatic as a kid. I still own all of SatAM, AoStH, and the "movie" on DVD. I have read every single issue and spin-off of the Archie comic, although at this point it's mostly out of a dumb sense of obligation.
But when it comes to video games, I've mostly stopped caring. I really liked Sonic Rush. I totally enjoyed the All-Stars Racing games. But the actual Sonic-only games on consoles? I gave up.
A movie in theaters? I'm curious to see how it will work. I don't think Sonic is well suited to a live-action/CGI hybrid though...

Honestly considering Hollywood's track record with adapting 80's and 90's franchises it's incredible this hasn't happened sooner. It's also not surprising considering they're making a big push to reinvigorate the Sonic franchise in the west lately with a new TV cartoon and a game designed specifically for the western market.

Well my moaning is due to the fact that this was sort of my dream project, and technically even before this announcement there was pretty much a 0% chance of it ever happening. I have full faith it could be done decently, but I'm envisioning more in the realm of smurfs/garfield and way too many of his furry friends being featured.

I don't know i enjoyed the smurfs/garfield movies(though not as good as the original material I will admit) so maybe they'll at least do some justice to the sonics history
