After the pain in the ass it was getting RAGE to run without texture pop in, let down that I am going to have to do it all over again.

After all the other reviews I've read, this is probably the 2014 game I'm looking forward to playing most so far.

I thought RAGE was a great game, it was just a pain in the ass to get it running due to technical issues.

I had almost no interest in playing this. I'd give it more credit since it's got some Chronicles of Riddick Butcher Bay people working on it, as opposed to Raven Software whom hasn't made anything good since moving away from the id Tech 1. (The games they've made recently that are "decent" are still greatly lacking) But ultimately I just didn't care.


And then I found you kill Nazi's on the moon. That's just not fair. Now I have to play it.
I'm not going to be paying $60, but it's definitely on my "buy" list now.

Eh, they keep talking about it being scalable but it only downscales as needed to keep the framerate up. The framerate is locked to 60 fps on PC no matter what. Sure maybe only big spenders will have machines that would get much above 60 for long periods today, but a few years from now an off the shelf box from Best Buy will be able to do it and unless they patch that out later you'll still be stuck at 60 fps for no reason.

I tend to keep my machine decent, but still middle of the road. I also tend to get to games a bit after release and sometimes replay games that had setting way above what I was capable when first getting the game. I replayed Far Cry several times after PC upgrades along the way to see how it looked with options bumped higher each time.
