Mary and Ashley Olsen are no longer sixteen either.

Sure some perv has a calendar for that.

Everyone back in the day talked about how hard Alma was but she never gave me any difficulty. Now the FIRST BOSS... which
was the last boss as well
gave me tons of problems.

I had the same experience. The first few bosses wiped the floor with me. After I got used to the mechanics - You mean I can't just mash buttons and attack relentlessly?! - I fared much, much better (and Alma really was not a problem). Truthfully, random encounters with groups of Spider Clan ninjas killed me more than anything else.

I'm at a point in Sigma where there is a save statue and loading the game and turning around has 3 black spider Ninja waiting for me sometimes if I use the staff I can dispose of them but 3 more are down the way and......UGH. They are wiping the floor with me too.

In front of Muramasa's main shop there's a stairway with respawning enemies so what I'm doing is grinding for essence and powering Ryu up as far as he can go.

I'm big on newer games that have a real video game "feel" to them. Ninja Gaiden Black felt that way to me. Tight mechanics, hard difficulty but you kept wanting to play.

True story.

An old friend of mine who I have lost touch with gave me the oxbox Ninja Gaiden. He also gave me the strategy guide and said "You're going to need this".

It's an incredible game and experience, and I love the way it easily transitions from the "old Ninja Gaiden" (uniform and all) to the "new Ninja Gaiden". You can tell the franchise cares about being a franchise.
