What???

Capcom PSX games:

Resident Evil 1 2 3
Strider 2
Marvel vs Capcom
Dino Crisis Series
Megaman X Series
Megaman Legends Series
Darkstalkers
Rival Schools
Street Fighter series
Pocket Fighter series
Puzzle Fighter

Those are just a few. Capcom was at its best during that era

I could throw a dart on most major consoles, and list the relatively generalized things you posted. "Darkstalkers", "Megaman", "Street Fighter" - in other words those things are hardly PSX exclusive, and I don't think any of those series peaked on the PSX.

Honestly, I thought of all of those games - and I could probably list 10-20 Capcom games that I like more than any one of their games that came out for PSX.

Also, Marvel vs Capcom, Darkstalkers and Street Fighter are all pointless to play on PSX if you have other consoles, they aren't good ports. I even forgot that MVC came out for PSX because I heavily associate it with the Dreamcast (which had 4 player on top of it running way better).

Plus Street Fighter series should be rephrased as Alpha 2 and 3, which I think is weaker than Street Fighter 2,3 & 4.

The Megaman X games for PSX? They were cool, but hardly great. Megaman peaked on NES and SNES for me, and some of the PSX Megaman X's were flat out bad. I don't even remember them well after X4.

Anyhoot, some examples of games that were made by Capcom but flourished in the 6th generation

Resident Evil Series - Peaked at Gamecube to me.

Resident Evil Remake - the best RE game I've played.

Resident Evil 4 - Second best RE game I've played.

Resident Evil Zero - Third best RE game I've played.

I think those 3 games are the pinnacle of the series, there's a big drop off after those 3 for me. I replayed RE 2 and 3, and they were pretty boring in my opinion.

PS2

Okami

God Hand

Devil May Cry 1 & 3

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike

Onimusha - I haven't played, but it has its fanbase for sure.

Dreamcast

Project Justice (sequel to Rival Schools)

Power Stone 1 & 2

Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2

Canon Spike

Then you have the stuff they made on NES, SNES, DS, & Arcade, and gems scattered on Wii, PS3, 360 & PSP.

I honestly can't say Capcom was at their best during the PSX era, because if I were to make a personal list of like their best 20, maybe even 30 games, I don't think a single one would be from the PSX. There are a lot of obscure titles and hidden gems too, some of which I just remembered as I was writing this.

Capcom and Square Enix both peaked in the 16-bit era.

Of course that was the peak of video games in general.

Yes, having the exact same taste in video games is the most essential part of friendship, or indeed, any human interaction.

With that said, if you didn't like Valkyria Chronicles, go eat shit and die.

Yeah, almost every Capcom fighter of the PS1/2 era had much better ports on Sega consoles, be it SAT or DC.

The Vs. games in particular were absolute garbage (i.e. X-Men vs. SF)

My collection of Capcom games for the SNES agrees.
