Cute! She is so much bigger than when I saw her! I know you are so proud, and she will get more and more fun in the coming year.
.....
My little girl, Hollis, turned five a few weeks ago. She was really excited about it:
The little guy, Halkett, does not turn three until August, and apparently, he looks a lot like his daddy:
Currently, my kids love playing (or watching me play) LittleBigPlanet (PS3) and Angry Birds Star Wars (3DS), and letting them sit in my lap or snuggle up on me while we play one of those games for 20 minutes or so each night is one of the highlights of my day. (Also, my daughter is hilarious when I play LittleBigPlanet. She tells me what to do (i.e., "Daddy! Don't touch the electricity!" and "Daddy! I told you not to touch the electricity!"), and she closes her eyes and hides her head whenever I am playing a dangerous section. The little guy, on the other hand, raises his hands and yells at the screen (i.e., "Stop, robot, stop!"), but he also does this during movies.

I know. With two blue-eyed parents, however, there were not a lot of different ways they could have turned out. Their personalities are radically different, however.

She's still a little peanut. Went to the doctor today; she's not quite 17 pounds yet.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Cute! She is so much bigger than when I saw her! I know you are so proud, and she will get more and more fun in the coming year.
She's always been in great health - no colds/flus/ear infections/whatever at all during the first year. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Your kids are quite cute and older than I thought they were!
What are the origins of their names? "Hollis" is actually a town in Maine close to where I grew up.
My daughter's name is Iris (as you know). It makes people chuckle because my wife is an optometrist, but it was also my great-aunt's name.

They're both surnames from my wife's side of the family.BoneSnapDeez wrote:What are the origins of their names? "Hollis" is actually a town in Maine close to where I grew up.
Also, Hollis is the neighborhood in Queens that gave us Russell Simmons, LL Cool J, Ed Lover, Young MC, and all three members of Run DMC. (It also gave us Ja Rule, however; so that neighborhood carried no weight in our naming decision.)
