CGR is leaving Youtube
Re: Classic Game Room Leaving YouTube
Actually, quite a few video game companies have openly declared their support for the video makers and have put up social media posts urging any video makers who have their content flagged to contact them immediately so they can fight for them. Companies that are doing this include Blizzard, Capcom, and Ubisoft.

AVGN will be okay, because he was ScrewAttack.com to fall back on. And we already know CGR & CGRUndertow will be okay.
But some others I watch, that I'm wondering about: Gamerster81, MetalJesusRocks, TurboViews, Game Sack, and Irate Gamer.
Those were the main reasons I came to YouTube. Half the games I own I never would have known about if it weren't for these shows.
I wonder if music videos and tracks will be affected. If so, then I will have zero reason to go to YouTube anymore.

The blame lies with the big media companies standing outside their doors with torches and pitchforks that don't understand that letting some fans of something spread the word often helps them while requiring no effort on their part.GSZX1337 wrote:Fuckin' Google. I figured something was up when he started posting about "changes" coming to CGR, as well as his latest review was uploaded to DailyMotion instead of YT.
I'd agree that I hope no other video game review/discussions shows will be affected either. I subscribe to a whole mess of them.
It's bad enough they screwed with the comment system!

Does Google have to comply with those companies, though? Also, they've had a bit of a history with letting copyright holders have their way with YouTube.Hobie-wan wrote:The blame lies with the big media companies standing outside their doors with torches and pitchforks that don't understand that letting some fans of something spread the word often helps them while requiring no effort on their part.GSZX1337 wrote:Fuckin' Google. The most ridiculous flag he got was for his interview with the TR devs. TR themselves supposedly flagged him. I'm no lawyer but a interview you conduct is generally considered your intercultural property. AFAIR it didn't even have any TR related music or gameplay.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:YouTube totally fucked over a LOT of people. AngryJoe was in tears at the end of his rant.

Not to mention the NSA.

I thought he said in his video that Square Enix said they were not making any claims on their end? I might be wrong though.oxymoron wrote:The most ridiculous flag he got was for his interview with the TR devs. TR themselves supposedly flagged him. But anyway, I practically only go to Youtube for video game related stuff. Occasional reviews, and lot's of Let's Player's. A lot of them have started making their living's from Youtube, and if they have to stop making video's now then that's gonna suck majorly.

How dare fans of something spread the love and bring in potential sales and popularity!
Re: Classic Game Room Leaving YouTube
If i was another video site i would start offering these big gaming channels to come over to there site. Offer them some money and say if companies have a problem with one of your video will resolve it.
