Although I disagree with you on a lot of your points
(mainly Powered Up being your #1)
* you still made an excellent review. They're always worth watching.

Keep up the great work, and keep 'em coming.

To each his own, but Powered Up's graphics are a huge turn off to me. I never thought Mega Man should look "kiddy" and you can't get much kiddier looking than that. Too anime looking, to soft. I like the rough edges and soundtrack of the original.

did Luke just give props to a video game video? Wow. GryeDor, you need to pay it forward.

For the second or third time in a row.

His reviews are well thought out, contain very little if any buffer, well edited, and it's not just someone playing one level of the game making blatant statements. He actually reviews the game while also giving tidbits on the development of games, their popularity, etc.

This is not a paid endorsement, and I have not been under the influence. These reviews are some of the best, if not the best I've had the pleasure to watch.

Thanks Luke, i can see that and agree they won't please everyone but personally i enjoyed them a good deal. I have more issue with the character look and animation in 7 & 8, Powered Up, iduno, just kind of fit for me. Either way, glad you enjoyed it!

Personally I also prefer the early sprite-work, but for me Powered Up looks better than the Sega graphical update. I also don't care for the look for Mega Man in MM7 or MM8 either.

This review has made me want to seek out a PSP for all of the bonus content available. Also, great job on giving us all of those shots of the same areas across versions to highlight the graphical differences. I didn't realize the colors were so off in the PS2 version. Great work!

Honestly, neither did I until I started really looking into my captures, I actually went back and rerecorded the voiceover for the PS2 graphics because it was so much different than I realized. Thanks Ack!

Hey everyone, just a quick update here:

First, there won't be any video uploaded for April, sorry about that. I've got the next GvG drafted but it's time I get organized and start working smarter so I'm going to get at least the episode after that ready at the same time - trying to tackle these one at a time just isn't working well. Check the spoiler tab if you want to see the topcis for the next two episodes.
Episode 4: Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Episode 5: Adventure Island / Wonder Boy

In the next 3 weeks prior to May, I'm also going to be working on two additional series to run in tandem with GvG, since the bulk of the effort will be in that one, I wanted some less time intensive videos to help bridge the gap between GvG episodes.

The first is "This Day in Gaming" or "History Bytes" (can't decide which, tho History Bytes has much more character than the other!). It will be quick snapshots into the history of video gaming; important events, culture shifts, or more "mundane" things like miyamoto's birthday... things like that. Each episode will be around 3-4 minutes long focused onto a single event or multiple if they are immediately connected. I am expecting to be able to put together 4 or 5 of these for May, they will be released on the specific day in question in the video (i.e. May 18, 1984 - what happened?)

The second is a retrospective through Nintendo Power. Looking through some issues I just bought there's quite a lot of information in there for games that were never released or other cool connections and features like a celebrity profile on Wil Wheaton, so it'll focus on those things with some context and information, Again, should be around the 3-4 minute mark each. I'm going to shoot for having at least two of these ready for May.

That's all! I'll of course be posting the videos here as well as on Nintendo Age. Thanks!

I don't watch a ton of reviews because most are annoying at best and few offer real insight. However, I really enjoyed what I've seen so far. Nicely done!

And on a side note, you live a short hop up 75 from me! Haven't been up that way in a while, is the game shop still in business there? I got my copy of lightening force there a few years ago in box for 10.00. Haven't been back since and keep meaning to

I'm a little further south in Lima.

I think the south location is where I've been because it was right there off the exit.
