My intent was to strongly encourage participants to do at least some light research on the nominees before voting in hopes of increasing the amount of games people had both the means and interest to play. I still think it worked overall, but it's evident it didn't work out that way with the games that were barely touched.

Refraining from nominating titles you don't want to win could be a step in the right direction.

Well, it looks like o.pwuaioc is dropping out, so you might still get a pick too. I'd be happy to play Twin Hawk anyway!

I already have a game in mind. Not sure if I'm definitely on the list yet, so I'll keep people in suspense until then. :)

That's a good point.

Thread needs more drama. Shmups is seryuz!

I'm all for whatever you decide, Exed. You have a good head about it and I don't think you'd abuse the power
unlike me
and force us to play only games from 1988, so if you want to prepare the entire list, i'd be fine with that too.

I like the idea of doing a separate game for TR when Ikaruga is going on - just personal preference in that I have more time to game in the summer and would personally prefer 2 games going on, but i'm not attached to either way we go on this.

I'd def love to run another STGT next year - it was a ton of fun.

Thanks. I'm chill about all of this really, but I saw how well the STGT was put together and I want to make this process the same way. I'd also like to keep that event on because I know we could draw more to it. Plus you're willing to do it again, so that's a no brainer :)

Yeah, that's right. A damn fine calendar if I do say so myself  I like a lot of those games. :)

Seriously, though. Thanks for keeping the thread fun so far, I love it.

So how would we fit DocHauser in? It looks as if he has a game ready for us. I wouldn't want to force anyone off the committee. If we can figure out who belongs on the committee this year, I'd start asking for games from all of you. We're almost there!

Thanks to Brun for running it up to this point, and Exed for taking the torch!

I'm for the shmuptatorship, It'd be interesting to see what everyone has in store for us. Plus, the less voting the better

As for the TR Ikaruga month, I am up for either sticking to Ikaruga, or introducing a 2nd game for the club... but I think it would be best to pick a "main" game, since there is a light competition going on. Our scoreboards aren't huge as it is, so I wouldn't want to see us split up between 2 games. If we decide on a game to accompany Ikaruga, perhaps we can decide on one of those games to keep a board for, and just keep the other to discussion?

I'm for just making Ikaruga the lone pick for SOTM when it runs in TR.
