Yeah, but there's large chunks of those games dedicated to hard rock and metal, and there's full entries based on them (RB: Aerosmith, GH: Metallica, etc.)

ah, the title of the thread and games like Crue Ball and Brutal Legend made me think of games with Metal/Hard Rock elements of the story/aesthetic OTHER than the music. I see in the post you are referring to soundtracks instead. Carry on.

I'd argue for Thunder Force IV/Lightening Force and Doom/Doom II as the music in both is a metal as was feasible at the time. I swear there's a fighting or beat em up (besides GG) that has bosses based off of musicians, but I'm forgetting.
