I've actually got it running on my Wii using RetroArch and it plays really well. & it's kinda novel to play Mars Matrix with an NES controller

I think the video game gods are punishing me for not buying the PCB when I had the chance.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

They aren't here yet anyways :/ I'm playing on MAME right now myself.
Chained the entire first stage through to the boss, got greedy and tried to pick him apart and died. Run went to crap after that. I still don't have anything i'm proud of yet.
Re: RACKET STGT - Week 2 - MARS MATRIX scoreboard
As a Capcom fan, I must agree; Eco Fighters was a bit rough. Too bad, because the game looks great. But for a whole week? I'd play Exed Exes a lot more than that
That being said, it's November, so it must be time once again for Mars Matrix. Back to basics! 1 button controls, awesome music (Stage 3 wouldn't be out of place for Boards of Canada!), crazy scoring opportunities, everything mjm said ahead of me.
My first score came after re-learning everything I forgot in a year and quite a few subpar runs. Brought back an amazing multiplier for Stage 1, kept it going in Stage 2, and made it about halfway through the Stage 3 goldmine.
8,791,424,880 - ExedExes - Team NES - Stage 3 - MAME

I'll be assisting Skate with his issues for sure -- can't have a teammate down, we're looking pretty good so far!

I had a hard time getting into Eco Fighter too, and I'm also a big Capcom fan ExedExes. Mars Matrix should be easy to get into though!
Are you guys playing on difficulty 4 or 3? I think the Japan default is set to 4 and the US version defaults to 3.

I have the US rom, so whatever default is, I think 3 is right.
Honestly, I think the higher difficulty the higher the score - more enemies and easier to chain. That said, we should all be on the same settings.
Difficulty 3 then, all?

shmupmame is working much better, I can deal with that. Much better than the normal mame builds.
I assume we're outlawing the auto cannon that shmupmame supports, right?

yeah, no auto anything. "A" button only, please.

First score past Stage 1. I don't know how to play this game, despite screwing around with it on DC over the years.
dsheinem - 131,100,340 - Team DFT - St 2 - mame
My exp is 5588. I assume that's horrid? Is it closely connected to score?
