I didn't like Little Big Planet, and I think this is from the same developers. However, I like what I've heard about Tearaway and I'm always interested in getting more Vita titles so I pre-ordered it through Amazon, as they seem to have BOTH sets of pre-order bonuses.

I don't know if it will dethrone Puppeteer as my favorite platformer of the year though

From what I've seen it's a bit different from LBP. I'm just excited to see all of the PS Vita's capabilities in action.

I'm excited for it too. I love platformers and I love the Vita. And while I didn't like Little Big Planet, I've begun to appreciate the road it has paved for other games. They are some Little Big Planet like elements to Puppeteer and I'm sure Little Big Planet's success made Tearaway's existence possible

I think Media Molecule got it's big break due to LBP. I haven't been able to play Puppeteer yet. I'm looking forward to getting it but I don't want to shell out $40. :P Is it worth $40 or should I wait for a price drop?

It depends on whether or not you plan to run through it only once. You could probably beat it in a day, but there are collectibles and fun little secrets to find in each level if you replay them, plus a bunch of bonus stages to play. It also has a co op mode, which actually may be the best way to initially play it if you can find someone who will play with you

For me personally, the game is such a fun and memorable experience that I think it justifies a 40 dollar purchase and each time you play through a stage you may discover some fun new little thing you missed on your first play through. The game has a ton of little easter egg type things to find in each stage, and a lot of the trophies are tied to that. Puppeteer is a game that just has so much going on in each stage from events to dialog to jokes to secrets that you can miss a lot just running through each stage only once

When you pick up your pre-order make sure to ask for the key chain. It wasn't listed as a pre-order bonuses. My guess is that it was a midnight promo thing. Honestly, you could just ask for one even if you don't have a pre-order. They had a bunch left over at my GS at least. They have one for both the girl and boy protagonist.

Here's what it looks like.
