Oh man I could go for some tuna salad right now actually. It's been ages.

She had quite an addiction to legend of zelda when I was younger (I remember her hitting my dad with a frying pan because he deleted her level 7 save with almost all the hearts. She threw a right fit and threatened to kick my dad out for good!) Good times
Ha Fucking awesome.
My mother had her own snes and Megadrive back in the day and I can remember that she used to play Aero the acrobat on the snes over and over trying to better her score. I never liked or played that game but I can remember that fucking theme music, it's still plays inside my head today.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
My mother always accepted my gaming habit and supported it. I tried getting her to play Sonic once and that didn't go well. She pretty much gave up on ever playing a game again. However, the recent popularity of the Wii and Brain Age on the DS has gotten her interest.
I'm telling you, Nintendo is doing more for making gaming an adult hobby in a short period of time than Sony has done in years. It's amazing, and ironic. Nintendo has for years been considered the main culprit for gaming being considered for kids only.
One relative who finds gaming to be stupid would be my uncle. Odd, since I remember him playing atari 2600 games with me years ago when I was very young. I guess in his mind it's only okay for kids to play, so he doesn't know why I play games now at 28. He doesn't get a lot of things though. He hates all comedy shows on tv for example. Sometimes he really acts like an old fart
My mom was a text based adventure kind of woman... She played Zork on my 386 IBM back in the day and installed it on her work computer. I remember having to put it on a 5.25 floppy for her when I was little. haha I remember when my parents got me a GameBoy and I must have had it 5 days before my mom confiscated it and was "truly" addicted to Tetris.
Games and consoles have been in my house since I was born. My dad and Uncle got me a Atari 2600 when they first came out.. I remember I was in the hospital getting my tonsoles [spelling] taken out and they bought it and hooked it up in the hospital room.. we played combat all night.
I'm proud to say my parents now own a Xbox360 and dad plays Tiger Woods 08 on it and has a Live account.. :]
my mom used to play centipede and ms. pac-man a lot in college. we had a 2600 when i was younger and she'd play those games with me sometimes. she loved wii sports but hasn't played it since i showed it to her. my mom's not really a video game kind of person.
My mom hated me playing videogames when I was a kid. But she didn't mind it when I played "Ecco the Dolphin" or anything equally non-violent with pretty music. This selection was very limited... but really it is what drives me to design children/parent friendly game ideas.
My mom got totally addicted to Tetris! We had the Nintendo in our room and I remember waking up at 3 in the morning an being like, "Mom....what are you doing?" She was good though, she got farther than i ever did.
The only game I can remember is Pac-Mania, on the Amiga. But she stopped as I didn't like seeing poor Pac die so often
My dad played more games, but not many more. He played Zany Golf with us, for example (I guess as he liked pool). I know he used to play in arcades when he was younger.
