Not really biased since I have both, but my Vita does get a lot more play.

I play my Vita more... Vita games, PSP, Minis, PS1... And save data is cross-compatible. I played half of FF7 on my PS3 and finished it up on my Vita.

Pound-for-pound my 3DS library is superior (quality and quantity), but Pinball Arcade is on Vita. Sooooo. :?

The Vita fits the Playstation ecosystem extremely well. If you're a PS3 gamer and/or plan on moving deeply into the PS4 realm, I'd say it's a much better choice.

A show of hands on this thread seems to put weight behind the theory that the 3DS has a better library. You also cannot escape the fact that you must continuously buy Nintendo hardware if you plan on keeping up with their massive line up of first party IPs.
