First, I believe the Xbone is in direct violation of the most basic privacy rights. Being actively monitored without any semblance of privace while playing is simply not admissible. It's not okey to wiretap my phone conversations, it's not okey to record what websites I visit and it's not okey for the Xbone to monitor me.
If I don't allow my goverment to tap my phone without a warrant, I surely don't allow Microsoft or the goverment of the US to do so (Who may I remind me you claims jurisdiction of all the data Microsoft may gather). A product in violation of such privacy rights should simply not be allowed to exist.
In fact, I don't need to disallow it because the laws of my country, the European Union and even the US itself disallow the kind of product the Xbone is.
Second, it's a direct violation of the most basic costumer rights which no product should be. We don't allow lead-based paint, we don't allow for unsafe cars and batteries and we shouldn't allow invasive datamining.
Third. In repeated claims Microsoft has admitted and even boasted about his monitoring being a marketing tool, that they would save our data and store every single possible part of our information so they can profit from it without any transparency whatsoever.
I mean, they dare to say this:
Fourth, Microsoft has a long held an anti-costumer position, attemping to smother the secondary market, witholding services without appeal or notice, attemping to enforce EULAs taking away our very basic right to sue them and other general douchebaggery of a high enough caliber so that trusting them not to be the biggest douches they are reeks of stupidity.Microsoft wrote:users they “should not expect any level of privacy concerning your use of the live communication features such as voice chat, video and communications in live-hosted gameplay sessions offered through the Services.”
All of which only lead to a single conclusion: The Xbone should not exist and anyone who buys it is pissing away their own rights in order to have access to video games.
Excuse me, but Microsoft themselves are saying that it's a spying device that will monitor your conversations for datamining purporses. There's no conspirancy here, it's out in the open.Luke wrote:Is Norris saying that the xbone is some evil microsoft spying device? And does he know the internet just heard him say that?
