Playstation Plus question

Why does the vita Zen stars not have an expiration date but the other games do? On my vita.

I believe it has something to do with it being classed to the system as an add-on/DLC instead of a full game.

The free games are tied to your subscription to PS+ if you continue to subscribe then you can access the free content but when you stop paying for it then you do not have access to it. So it is not permanent.
