If you want to take the PC out of the equation, you can use the PS2 Hard Drive with the Network Adapter.

There's also the official USB memory card adapter for the PS3, which will allow you to back cards up on that. Or use them for games you can play on it (though I can back up PS2 cards on my Slim too, so it doesn't seem to only be for games the system can play).
