Welcome to the forums!
Well, I get bored with the game I am playing and hop to another, get bored with that one and go back to the other. So I am always playing through 2 games at a time to keep myself entertained.
Ever feel tired of gaming?

Huh?
To answer your question, nope. I still frequently play my 2600. Gaming has never been a fad for me.

Re: Ever feel tired of gaming?
The problem that I'm starting to have now as an adult is that I'm sometimes too mentally tired to play a game.
I'll come home from a particularly stimuli-loaded day at work, let's say, and want to relax and enjoy myself. I'll think something like, "I know! I am totally in the mood to start playing Ultima III!" But then I'll look at the manuals, materials, controls, you name it, and just feel so exhausted. I simply can't put the effort into learning something new or complicated on some days. And this can happen with non-new games, too, if they require a lot of concentration, skill, or quick reflexes; I'll be too mentally fried to stay on top of the gameplay and my performance will actually suffer for it.
My brain and energy quotas get used up as a grown-up in a way they didn't as a kid, and it makes me sad. I now I understand why my dad often fell asleep on the couch after work when I was a little!

I'm the exact opposite. Even after a day of long boring meetings playing my Nintendo is a huge stress relief (with the right game of course). I'm a guy of habit though. When I wake up I always watch sportscenter and do not like to be bothered, and after work I like to play a game for about a half an hour and not be bothered.

I always thought it was the opposite. I think I am more focussed as I get older. Of course I also claim in spite of what others think as not insane.Luke wrote:Huh?Retrogamer0001 wrote: - our attention span decreases as we get older, that's for sure.

Better yet, just merge with a previous I'm tired of gaming Thread.Xeogred wrote:We definitely need a sticky thread for this weekly topic.
"WHINE HERE!"
For a new member who started this Thread, you are off to a crappy start, there has to be something positive you can write about.

Re: Ever feel tired of gaming?
NO. NEVER.
I kid, I kid.
I usually try to beat two games at a time, so if I get stuck on one, I just go to the other and clear my head a little. This works great with RPGs.
I usually game every day, but its never so much that I would feel tired of it. Usually in short bursts.
Damn! 4,6,8 hours! I've never played that long. I love to game, but the most I'll do at once is 2 hours. Plus I don't really have that much time (Who does?!).

Oh man, back during my teenage years (I'm 27 now) I could sit and grind away at PS1 RPGs like Final Fantasy 7, 8, Legend of Legaia, Lunar, and Jade Cocoon for up to ten hours a day, especially in the summer. I was a machine back then, though I won't deny that's it not exactly the healthiest lifestyle. Nowadays, I can put in an hour or two but then need a break.
