yeah, i remember my friend dropping $500 on a 3do, i paid about $300 from eb games about a year or so after. By that time the 3do was on the decline i used to buy games for 10 bucks a pop, i must've had about 20 games, once i heard the 3do was going to be discontinued I ended up trading everything in for a shiny new sega saturn and a few games that i actually still own, it's about 12 years old i believe and it's still working fine.
It's amazing how something that used to cost initially $600 can be bought for $40 dollars...lol.

i'm a fan, but i agree you have to dig through a TON of crap to find maybe 20 quality titles for the system. most of the good games for the 3DO aren't even exclusive titles, so you could find them on PSone, saturn, pc, etc probably much easier and probably of better quality. at least the controller would be better.

I remember the first time I played a 3DO (and I don't know why I bought one after the experience). It was at my friend Tillman's house. He had a large chunk of change so we would go to his place, spin records all night, eat acid, turn on the fog machine and pass out playing 3DO at 8 in the morning (if we passed out at all that is). The guy had about 60 titles for the system and it was a constant battle of sifting through all the disks, picking a game and playing it for 2 minutes before realizing how crap it was.
Fun times though... I liked Gex on it a LOT.

Yeah man, Good times. I was so addicted to 3do i actually finished this game called Hell. It was an atrociously hard puzzle quest game. I still remember the theme song and all that..lol. Man if i score a 3do i'm gonna try to play it again, but with my attention span nowadays i'll probably play for like 5 minutes and go for something else..There's just too many videogames out there..0.o

I never owned one, but had a "rich" freind who did. He played it for 3 months and traded it in because there weren't enough games. The 3DO had almost perfect arcade ports of SF2 and Samarai Showdown which put them a little ahead of the curve. Also, it did have the best version of Wing Comander that I've played. But the slow load times and lack of titles are a big minus.
