Re: Do you think the PS2 is retro?
At eighteen, I'm a teen and an adult. Imagine that.
I think it depends on the game's design more than its age. A lot changed during that generation! I would call Ridge Racer V retro, but Sly 2 is as modern as it gets. Tekken Tag feels retro, Tekken 5 feels pretty new.

Re: Do you think the PS2 is retro?
My definition of retro is ten years old or two console generations behind, whichever occurs first. So the Gamecube, GBA, Xbox and PS2 are all retro. I know it seems weird, but it just means we're getting old.

By your definition it's not exactly retro yet. It'll be retro in November.

Yes, I consider it retro as well. Not sure how a "retro-meter" would be very helpful either, considering it doesn't really matter all that much and is subjective to personal opinion.

Re: Do you think the PS2 is retro?
It's been said before but it depends on what you consider retro. Is it the age of the console or is it the style? I feel like the PS2 was the first of the "modern" consoles. For me anyway it's the point where 3D graphics and gameplay had matured. That's just how I look at it though.

I'd call it 'Pretro', but that's sound like either a Grecian deity, a paedophile, or a mixture of both.
Couldn't care less, mind, once a lot of its best games can still be found in bargain bins.
Actually just checked 'Pretro', it's already a thing. There you go, problem solved.

I consider it retro if Gamestop won't carry it.
Insert clever quote here.

Definitely retro by now. Same goes for Gamecube and the original Xbox.

Re: Do you think the PS2 is retro?
I think Ps2 is a bit different than the xbox and gamecube. When those systems died it was still selling. And a bunch of games just were gems for that era. Plus it was the undisputed king of he JRPG.
Re: Do you think the PS2 is retro?
It is hard to call the GC/PS2/Xbox retro systems, they just feel outdated. On a game by game basis some of them held up very well for this gen and then some got HD ports; add all of that on top of the backwards compatibility or in the case of the PS2 a ridiculous long amount of support. The systems barely really went away, even the Gamecube stuck around decently due to the Wii's full support.
On the PC side the gap could be even smaller sometimes due to a patch allowing for compatibility and better resolutions. Nothing about that gen feels retro or heavily nostalgic, just outdated a bit.
