Yeah, I forgot to say... There's a little depth to fighting, but not much. You're essentially mashing one button all the time. The "challenge rooms" actually made my wrist sore from having to mash the button for ~10 minutes. This is another reason I wish it was more like SotN.

Still, a great game and I'm happy to have it in my Wii library.

I've been playing with the Classic Controller Pro, and that's the way to go unless you prefer a stick. I think the game also allows you to use a GCN controller, which is nice.

I've been doing post game stuff in Fire Emblem Awakening. Still enjoying it despite having beaten it already. I've also been messing around with Shinovi Versus despite a big rant I had about that game in the Games Beaten thread. Just something about beat 'em ups, they always hook me back in even if I have complaints about them.

I spent a lot of time watching Burn Notice today and yesterday with a relative too. Getting caught up on recent episodes as the show heads into its final season. We pigged out on burgers and hot dogs today, but it was all made indoors on a stove. No sense going outside with all the rain we're getting in Florida lately.

That's like the most American game every. You beat the shit out of dudes to save the president's daughter, and then he gives you a burger. Fuck yeah, 'Merica.

^ In his defense, he did mention the addition of a second game to the list.

I don't really understand the comparisons to SotN, but Muramasa really derives its depth in the challenge. If you're playing it on easy mode, it's going to be a cake walk, and really not offer much utility for a lot of the battle mechanics that become a necessity to master in the standard and higher difficulties.

Honestly, I prefer a game that doesn't force me to fight the same monsters in every screen of the entire map whenever I have to backtrack somewhere. Muramasa generally has specific areas where stuff appears, and even that felt like too much to me at times. So, I don't really get that criticism, but It's more about an experience, and travel, as it's partly an interactive story of the Tokaido prints in the form of a video game, replete with Japanese mysticism. A nice nod to Basho in there, also.
