Re: The most you would pay for big ticket games...
Snatcher is the one I could actually walk into a store and pay something for a complete copy, though I probably wouldn't pay what it's worth ($250?). I don't think I'd go over like $80 for it, but then again if there was one in front of me staring me in the face who knows? All kinds of thoughts would be running through my head about someone else pulling the trigger if I didn't.

Re: The most you would pay for big ticket games...
I think my cut-off is triple digits. At least for now.
I spent $90 on Ibara but it seemed cosmic. My wife asked me one night to make a list of things I wanted if time/money/etc were no obstacle. So for a video game related things I wrote down Ibara, a candy cab and Lollipop Chainsaw (which had been announced but not released at the time). Anyway, like 2 weeks later mj randomly pm'd me that a guy he knew was motivated to move Ibara under market to get PayPal funds that day. So $90 shipped and I got Ibara.
/story of the most expensive single game I've bought.

I have reiterate this. So many people have fear of the $100 titles, but no fear of the latest 360 release at $50 or vita release at $40. Then 6 months later, they've tired of it or beaten it and resell for half of what they paid.
I'd much rather spend that $90 on a title and then if I truly tire of it 6 months later...sell it for $90.
The math is much more in your favor on higher priced retro titles.
Even if you spend $90 on (10) retro games and tire of those or otherwise don't want that - you might get $90 back, but shipping them a game or two at a time, you'll only clear $70 or so.
I really think the 3-digit fear is unfounded. Look at your $10 games and then ask yourself, would I rather have these (10) $10 games, or this legit $100 game. I'm sure this is a minority opinion, but it makes sense to me.

that's why I generally don't spend full price on current gen games. It's been very rare for me to buy a $60 game. Catherine, Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Lollipop Chainsaw were I believe the only exceptions.mjmjr25 wrote:$
A game I really want that's a new release - $40 is my sweet spot.
$20-$30 is far more likely though.

So very very true!!!!!
In all honesty, if there is a game that I am desperate to grab, their is no real limit on price. The reality of it though is that most stuff is easily emulated now a days. If a game has gone the way of the dodo and is incredibly rare, my desire for it has lessened.
Give me a rare arcade game though or something really crazy and unique and sign me up! I dream to one day get myself a working Time Traveler Arcade game or a Samba De Amigo Arcade Machine. Fake Holograms for life yo!!!!
