I think this is going to be sold out for a long time, ala Wii or PS2. It seems to be the only viable console for this gen, and at that price it's a major bargain.

Yeah, I'm getting a PS2 vibe with the PS4. I fully expect hardware shortages and long lines. I am seriously considering pre-ordering. I haven't pre-ordered a console since the PS2 launch.

I think its something to consider. They have already announced that there would be a shortage...and being the better price break of the next big thing...you KNOW Christmas time is going to be NUTS. Id get it now if you want it or be prepared to pay massive mark ups...or a very long wait.

I pre ordered last night on Amazon. I figured, why not? I can cancel whenever if i want. And the only GameStop ones are bundles. At least on their site. Who is to say I want any of those games?

This means that in a year or so I'll purchase a PS3 and catch up with everyone else. Really hoping the PS3 might come down to a $150usd price point sometime soon.

I still haven't purchased a Nintendo DS (the original) as my backlog is, well, pretty stupid (and by that I mean I'm stupid for buying so many games).

When the Christmas season comes around, I should be a PS3 owner.
