3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I've always been interested in the series, because I'm into "life sim games" and collecting stuff in games.

Oh man you'll love AC then I think. Collecting furniture and stuff is pretty much the meat of the game.

I've actually never watched too much gameplay footage. I've seen a little guy fishing and stuff. Can't you collect little knickknacks, trophies, etc? If so, I'm so getting into this series. I always loved stuff like the trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

There's a local museum that you slowly populate with different fish, bugs, and fossils you can find. You can also get songs from KK Slider to play in a radio if you have one in your house. Furniture you collect can be freely moved around and arranged in your home, and many of the items you find are part of different matching themed sets that you can complete. Trust me, there's TONS of stuff to collect in the game.

I haven't played any of the games since the Gamecube one (didn't have a DS and didn't get a Wii until way later), so I'll be eager to try this new one.

More likely to consider getting this game now. Cancelled my Project x Zone preorder. Didn't really like it much. Maybe Monolith games just aren't for me. didn't like Xenoblade much either.

Picked up the game and guide today.

I've paid off the down payment on my house and have nearly 30 thousand bells saved up. Getting the fishing rod day-one sure is useful!

So ended up with 2 copies today, one for me and one for my wife. We spent the after noon digging, picking fruit, and visiting each others town. At one point I was thinking, when does the night cycle start so I can get my house? Then, it was at that moment, that I fully understood the game. It moves in REAL time, not normal game time where a day can take only a few minutes. At first I was not so sure about the game any more, but then I thought about it, and the system allows me to actually look forward to the next day of playing to get new stuff and events. I will probably turn on the 3ds in the morning while getting ready for work to see if my house is ready.

While I called it quits after a couple of hours, my wife kept on going and ended up with the fishing pole, and a ton of bells! I can see how this game is so addicting, and look forward to holidays and weather changes with the seasons.

The combat portion of Project X Zone just felt super weak to me. I wish it were more similar to a cut down fighting game instead of just button mashing (yes, I'm aware of the combos to raise meter).

If I can find a copy of Animal Crossing tonight I'm going to buy it. I got paid today.

Luckily in this version, as mayor, you can mandate that stores stay open later and such from what I've read. That will be extremely helpful for me, seeing as I pretty much play my handhelds just before I hit the hay for the evening.

Yeah, the real-time aspect of the game really enhances the enjoyment and boundlessly sustains the replay value. Looking forward to getting my house tomorrow, lol.

I can't wait to have the Early Bird law in place. None of the shops open at a decent time in the morning. The default times kind of suck. Some places don't open until nine or ten-o-clock.

Day 2: This game is mesmerizing! I had to turn it on first thing this morning to see my house! I then had to stop playing so I could get ready for work. My Wife took it to work and played on her lunch. As soon as I got home I turned it on and played for a while. I ended up with some sweet stuff from those fortune cookies, I got a Virtual Boy, and a Majora's Mask that I can wear! These alone make me want to find out what other cool nintendo stuff in in the game.

Dood, nice! Virtual Boy's near the top of my most wanted in-game items list, lol. I've got a Fire Flower an' Varia Pants from the cookies so far.

So I was playing today, did all the normal stuff, and went to the island to do the tours and such, upon selecting my 3rd tour, I say in the chair...and the game crashed to the 3ds menu! About an hour worth of work, gone! Totally killed the game for me for the moment, but I remembered I needed to go back into some shops before they closed tonight, so I went to the shop to get my fortune cookie again, and ended up with a much sweeter item than I got earlier, a Samus Helmet!

So anyway, be sure to save often, less you want to lose some precious bells, and get scolded the next time you start the game:
