Game Trailers and Kotaku tried to discredit their statements because they're in Microsoft's pocketCronozilla wrote:I really don't understand how there was any confusion over Sony's stance on all this when the statement is from before the PS4 event. This is something we've known since February. There's non-mandatory DRM that can be utilized, and you can expect publishers like EA, UbiSoft, and Square Enix to utilize it (they're some of the worst in the PC realm, I doubt their philosophies will differ much on console)

I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

I think Sony and Microsoft have traded places this gen. Microsoft just seems so freaking stupid right now. I think they are so confident after the 360's success that they think they can just come out and blatantly screw us this next gen and we'll just bend over and take it. I certainly won't. As of right now, I have no future plans of buying the Xbox One at all. I'll get a PS4 once they become affordable though.
PS4 seems to be on the right track. Hopefully, Sony will have good software for it. I just hope we get some cool Vita announcements too at E3. The 3DS and Vita are where all my gaming excitement is right now

I think it is because Sony got smacked down a little with the PS3. In the US the Xbox 360 has proven more successful, and developers complained a lot about the difficulty of dealing with the PS3, and that resulted in several inferior ports, despite the PS3 being more expensive. Further, Blu Ray player prices dropped quickly enough that they couldn't use the same advantage they had with the PS2 of pushing it as a DVD player that was cheaper than the competition. Well, that and it's becoming more difficult to be a console maker and software developer in general.Gamerforlife wrote:I think Sony and Microsoft have traded places this gen... I want BOTH Sony and Nintendo to step it up. PS4 is going to have some great games I just feel it. The WII U NEEDS more games I like Nintendo's idea with it and that big ugly pad is more comfortable than I thought it would be. But GAMES we need GAMES. Bayonetta 2 isn't enough to sell me on the Wii U.Gamerforlife wrote:I think Sony and Microsoft have traded places this gen. Microsoft just seems so freaking stupid right now. It takes a few years for a console to mature. I bought a PSP and XBOX Classic around launch and was reaching for games at a time there weren't many. 1 -2 years is the best timetable for a console to mature. If you wait until JUST before a next gen that's when all the deals on current gen happen. PS3 games are cheap now and I think I picked a great time to grab a PS3.

The latest word from Platinum Games is that neither Bayonetta 2 or The Wonderful 101 are likely to stay on the Wii U...they will just be timed exclusives.TheRev wrote:. Bayonetta 2 isn't enough to sell me on the Wii U..
Edit: Nevermind - I never saw this follow up: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/0 ... _exclusive

Fantastic news! Especially for those of us on a budget for games.
