Why, I don't really know.
Edit: I forgot about NGCD.
Let's talk about this game. 1) Does the SNES game even compare? 2) How is it on the NGCD? and 3) Are there any problems with FFBA1?

so MOTW, this and...?
MOTW is so far and above for me. Like... I tend to play MOTW more than even most of the KOF games.
RB2: The Newcomers. And I may even go as far as saying I enjoy RB2 a tad more than MOW (yes I know, I'm crazy but hear me out). RB2 has a more appealing visual look with more vibrant (at least to me), a much more broader roster of fighters to choose from, and gameplay that is just as refined as its successor. I love the "in your face" presentation (GET IN THE RING!!! *Flames Aplenty* ROOOUUUND 1!), I love the music, the Intro and newcomer Rick Is one Bad Ass Motherbrother (still waiting for him to make his debut in a KOF as he almost made the cut back in 99).

1)Takara had to make some sacrifices to fit the game on the SNES.
2)Its fine, it just loads like every other fighter on the platform.
3)None. Its a perfect port across all 4 games on the collection.

I'll start with the NG original, then move to the SNES, and if time permits, other ports.

I don't think so. You're 3 installment ahead of this game. You have RB Special which is a completely different game.

But even for the cuts made, it is still very playable, IMO.
It's actually how I was first introduced to SNK fighters.
I'm just curious to see how the GG version plays. I've yet to play it in anticipation for this month's TR.

Except for FF3, which is impossible to do those "secret special ultra moves" (or whatever they are called). So I wouldn't call it quite Perfect on PS2.
It's still my preferred port of the game though; I never needed those moves anyways. Standard Desperation moves are just fine for me.
Also, I think Fatal Fury 2 is close enough to FFSpecial, if anyone has that to play instead. I was quite impressed with the Genesis version.
The SNES port of FFS is pretty good though. I always re-map the buttons so that (whatever desperation move my character has) it uses 2 buttons commands right next to each other.
In Other Words: I appreciate not having to press X and B at the same time. (and that goes for Battle Archives too, love having a customized control).
Too bad that me Neo Geo copy doesn't get much gameplay, partially for that reason.

I bought this game on SNES, it was one of my first import game from Japan.
I was quite excited to play to this game, but Street Fighter was much better in my opinion.
On SNES, Fatal Fury Special is really slow and couldn't compete with Super Street Fighter 2 or Street Fighter Turbo.

Why can't these moves be performed on the PS2?

Concerning
Fatal Fury 3 on PS2 (FF:BA1)
Okay, so they are called "Hidden Desperation Moves". Activation for allowing the move during a round require holding a combination of buttons at the beginning of a round. One of the buttons is "Start", which is not mapped to the PS2 controller. I think start just calls up the system menu or something.
Someone prove me wrong if I'm in error, I forget where I read about this and I've never really tried it on my PS2 (really no point in trying if the start button doesn't doesn't work the same as the arcade).
