DOUBLE DARE

THE TICK: ANIMATED AND LIVE ACTION.
I don't know much about Married With Children, but I think I'd rather see something in the tradition of it.

Double Dare would be awesome, but only if:

* It's part of a revival of old Nickelodeon game shows, including Legends of the Hidden Temple and Nick Arcade
* It and it's fellow revived Nickelodeon game shows should have a parent show on Nickelodeon and Teen Nick, with specific spinoffs for other Viacom networks, especially Spike TV, possibly Comedy Central and definitely Logo, cuz how would it not be strangely awesome to see an all drag-queen episode of Double Dare?

Just do another adaptation of The Tick, but as a film franchise.

I already have a lengthy topic over here on the IMDb, but any changes I make I'll just make here. Mostly since I can't seem to login there anymore.

Basically, a darker reimagining done as a 3-4 film franchise.

Possible cast:

* Kellan Lutz as Ryan Steele
* Jacob Artist as JB Reese
* Blake Lively as Kaitlyn Starr
* Paul Iacono or Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Percy
* ??? as Tao
* ??? as Dr. Hart
* Gary Sinise or Terrence Zdunich as Carl Ziktor/Grimlord
OTHER CASTING CHOICES TBD

As a Japanese anime series.

I'd want the next Transformers series to be sort of a remake of Beast Wars.
I'd also like more American Kamen Rider adaptations in the vein of Dragon Knight.
Insert clever quote here.

Yeah, because we really need the 25th version of Power Rangers.

I'd love to see a new Star Trek series, more than anything. It's been too long since Enterprise was cancelled, and the movies more than prove there is still plenty of life left in the franchise.

The sci-fi genre in general is really lacking on T.V. at the moment. I'd be happy with any decent sci-fi show. I know there's Defiance on right now, but that really hasn't wowed me. And CW's shows aren't really sci-fi at all, they're just teen romance disguised as such.

A reboot of Sliders would be cool to see, too. I loved that show while FOX was still carrying it, just happened to mention it in the ongoing T.V. thread.

I'd also love to see some GOOD DC Comics cartoons return. Cartoon Network's decision to cancel Green Lantern and Young Justice for the kiddie-version of Teen Titans is unforgivable. If I could have my dream, just make DC Nation a 2-hour block, and bring back Batman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Superman TAS, and Justice League Unlimited with all-new episodes. But that will probably never happen.

Oh, how about bringing back G4/TechTV Icons? Best video game T.V. show, EVER, IMO. Such a cool and entertaining way to learn about the history of the gaming industry. And there were still many subjects and franchises left unexplored by that show.

The return of Headbanger's Ball on MTV would be fantastic, as well. I'm a huge metal-head, and this was the best show on T.V. to see the latest metal videos, see interviews with bands, and the latest going-ons in the topsy-turvy world of metal.

It's a shame you guys aren't Cartoon Network's demographic, and Cartoon Network doesn't have control over what animated shows DC is willing to make or continue.

The problem was advertising, not ratings, which is the shame here. Those shows pulled in good ratings, it's just that the viewers weren't buying the toys they were advertising.

Hercules and Xena are so dated now. I wouldn't mind seeing them modernized and brought up to date with new show runners, cast, and stories. Two shows based around Greek mythology could still work even today. I'm not sure who I see doing it though, since there aren't many shows like that on TV now. Maybe Steven Moffat? Eric Kripke? Or for something very serious and dramatic maybe even Daniel B. Weiss and David Benioff? Imagine Herc and Xena done Game of Thrones style.

A Highlander reboot could be excellent. The original series turned to shit near the end of its run and had some mediocre to bad movies finally put a stake in its heart. I'd say it's time for a new Highlander. You could have a new main character and tie it to the old series the way that series was tied into the original movie

I would have loved to have seen this get off the ground:

I think if you guys want to see an excellent example of a modern reboot you should watch Nikita on the CW

http://www.cwtv.com/shows/nikita/about

which is a reboot of this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Femme_Nikita

It's the best example I can think of in recent memory of a good TV reboot, besides Battlestar Galactica of course.

There should have never been anything after the first movie.

There can be only one!

Is it only one on Earth? The problem is immigration. We need to secure Earth's borders.

Saban's actually trying to. It's called Power Rider IIRC.

Though I myself came up with two different ideas. One is an American adaptation of KR Decade, but also elements from all the KR series it touched upon (555, Ryuki, et al). Another is a film trilogy consisting of American reboots of KR The First, but also combining elements of the manga and original series with original concepts, and KR The Next. And the third film would essentially be my the definite final entry.

I myself came up with a basic concept for a teen-oriented Starfleet Academy show, which would try to court the 13-18 market while still appealing to long-time fans.

It'd also spinoff into a few series. One's a typical ST series, a la TOS, TNG and Voyager. The second's a medical drama set in the ST universe, a la Grey's Anatomy, ER, et al. And the third is a crime/legal procedural, combining Law and Order, CSI and The Practice.
