This must be a hidden gem. I don't recon too many fighting-game-gamers played this game. Great game.
Love the ballz surprise there. +1
I had World Heroes Perfect on MVS, Saturn and PS2, but stopped caring when I got Garou for my mvs. I have put many hours into World Heroes Perfect though. Still a pretty great game.
Ah, I have one. Rabbit on the Saturn.

Pretty cool game with nice music
I also like SVG Spectral Vs Generation on the ps2
And the obscurestest fighting game series of all time: Power Instinct. I have played them all up to the recent Taito Type-x arcade game which has been leaked and can be played on your pc.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is probably my all time favorite SNK fighter...

I don't really follow the fighter scene so I don't really have a grasp of what fighters are obscure and what aren't. To me most fighting games that aren't Tekken/DOA/SF/Soul Calibur/Virtua Fighter (+maybe Marvel vs Capcom, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear...) are obscure, as you never really hear people talking about Saturn, Dreamcast, SNK etc fighters unless you are a collector/retro gamer/fighting game enthusiast. I personally don't really see World Heroes games as any more obscure than most Neo Geo fighters. Anyways I've been lately buying quite a lot of fighters and I've still got quite many on my purchase list, out of those I'd mention the following:

One Must Fall: 2097 (Isn't this game quite widely known? Not sure really)
Fightin' Spirit (It's pretty much like a SNK fighter on Amiga, impressive visuals)
Jojo's bizarre adventure
Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3)
Destrega
Waku Waku 7
Last Blade 2
Garou: Mark of the Wolves (can't afford this one myself though  )
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

This game is so strange, it also has the first gay person in a fighting game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO1jLrv5V1o

I'll second Waku Waku 7, super fun 2D fighter. I like Rakuga Kids which is in the same vein, unfortunately plays a bit choppy on N64. Wacky characters and moves, but still holds to tight controls and traditional fighter mechanics.

I think the OP should better define obscure though before this just turns into a thread naming fighting games, quite a few maintstream fighters being listed imo, including World Heroes which i'd consider a top 10 recognizable fighting franchise.

I know. I just wanted to link it so that we don't get too much overlap in your thread.

One game that I will add is:

This game was, and is, very fun, and I have heard that the sequel - which was not released in the U.S. - is even better.

Ah ok, AH Tobal. I reakon if not for Tobal, we never would have gotten Power Stone. Honorable mention to one of my favorite PS1 fighters, Ehrgeiz Which if I recall was co developed with Namco.

It can RUN on your PC playing is another story, EVERY stick I've tried with the game gives a different funny result. Spectral VS Generation is also on the PSP. I enjoy it

Is that the Twins super? I'll have to break it out later and try it. Groove on Fight was the first 2d Fighter I got for my Saturn a year or so ago.

I am going to add the arcade game, Karate Tournament
Image

The art style and animation was really well done and it captured the action/reaction elements of karate, even if the moves are very unrealistic. The game is a blast to play and incredibly addicting.

Other notable fighters, Eternal Champions CD for the loads of secret characters, fatalities and all around fun, even though there is some balance issues.

There are more, but its early and my brain hurts :P

There will always be more

How about Battle K-Road and Daraku Tenshi 2 amazing fighters from.........Psikyo?

Those two games showed that if they wanted to they could do great fighters as well as great Shmups.

TheRev wrote:BlazBlue is a bit mainstream to count, Same with Neo Geo Battle Coliseum which is more or less SVC Chaos 2. NOW as far as Obscure Ark System works fighters go... Sengoku Basara X. Great Fighter from Capcom/Ark System works, but it's not simply Dynasty Warriors clone in Fighting game form. It's much much more than that.

Waku Waku 7 like my pick World Heroes is a Neo Geo Game. There is also a version for the PS2. See ALSO- It's Sequel Astra Superstars.

BALLZ- Due to emulation errors I've never been able to play it.

I wouldn't say BlazBlu is main stream, maybe to us it is because most of us keep up with new releases, but Alot people I've met thought it was a rpg when they saw the cover.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this title yet

Bloody Roar series-With characters being able to morph to animals and fluid combat mechanics, this game is known to have produced some of the most insane combo's
