Yessir.
Sega recently renewed their trademark on Castle of Illusion, too. A little birdie has told me we can expect a Castle of Illusion Sega Heritage collection soon, likely by M2.
I would be all over this

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
*dances around the room for fifteen minutes*
Could Disney possibly be looking to revive the series and are using this to test the waters? Man, I hope so. What system is it gonna be for? A DS release would be awesome!

When this happens, I'm hoping beyond hope that Sega includes the 8-bit illusion games. I liked the 16-bit titles, but the 8-bit castle of illusion and it's 8-bit sequel, Land of Illusion, are by far the two best games in the series. Quackshot is also part of the series in japan (It's called I love Mickey Mouse in japan, with quackshot being I love Donald Duck, and world of illusion being I love Mickey and Donald).
but yeah, the 8-bit games are totally superior IMO. Not enough people have played them, and since Sega's recent habit with the heritage line is to include a high quality port with a few under recognized obscure titles (like an english version of the arcade version of Monster Land, for example). The 8-bit games are prime for such a collection.
ESPECIALLY if people really love ducktales, because the 8-bit games play a fair bit closer to duck tales than the 16-bit games.

XBLA, PSN, and WiiU. I'd expect a steam port to eventually pop up, too.
at least with the WiiU we kinda get a portable version.

I'm happy they are making a new game like this but, and I know this looks like trolling, am I the only one who thinks the game looks badly? Not in design, but the backgrounds and big-eyed characters.

I think the characters look straight out of the cartoon, so no complaints there. The backgrounds seem like typical 3D backgrounds, though.

I already have Duck Tales on NES. I'd MUCH rather see a true sequel released via XBox Live or Wii Ware or something.
If they were gonna do a remake, they should have remade the FAR more expensive and hard to get Duck Tales 2. Duck Tales 1 is a common game.
But nonetheless, this is good news. Maybe it'll garner the series enough attention for them to make a true sequel.
