I am truly a cynic!

Ivo.
Oh don't worry... when I woke up the next day and heard about it from my cousin, and noticed the 12 or so messages on my voice mail... I laughed as well.

I find it amazing that my family is so used to my emotionless cynicism, that when I show any emotion they think there is something wrong.
That really is kind of sick. If you really care about your family, start showing. I, for one, don't, therefor I don't.
Verbal affirmation of my love for someone isn't my way of doing things. I'm the kinda guy who does stuff for people to show them I care... but as the years pass I can't do this as my family members spread further and further around the country.

So it's like I'm 'attempting' to do the whole 'normal' way of things. And they're just like... uhhh, Duct, what the hell is wrong with you?

[warning: mini rant]
I don't say I'm anything. If I say I'm Christian, I have to conform (in their eyes) to what this kind of douchebaggery, and if I say I'm an atheist, I get yelled at, and have to conform to that kind of douchebaggery. It's like high School labels thing all over again.
I know that others shouldn't influence what I believe, but I don't want to deal with the shit. Hell, if you gave me a dollar, I'll say "I love Jesus!" or "Praise Allah!" or whatever you want me to say. Is there a word for what I am? :P
[/rant]

This year I even went as far as messaging all my family and telling them I love them dearly and they mean a lot to me.
Why did you do that? :P

...
yeah, I have a heart.

...
well, they didn't take it as me having a heart.
Maybe you're like the Grinch and your heart is really small? :D
...
that's right, the fact I said I love them got them ALL worried. My phone and my cousin's phone (he lives with me) we ringing off the hook this morning with my worried family members who took my words of love as a suicide note.
I don't know if you would do it, but I'd tell them, "If I were to kill myself, I wouldn't tell anyone." :P

Valentine's Day, yes. New Years, no. It's too soon.

Hey now guys... you don't have to be an atheist to hate Christmas!

(p.s. I secretly love it because it fills my basic human need for commercial goods!)

I'm an atheist and I love Christmas, too. Heck, there's more pagan elements than Christian ones anyway.
