I go here whenever I'm in Chicago. It's the same idea as Barcade in Brooklyn: retro cabinets with a bar in the middle. The bar is much better stocked than you would expect.

Game center. $10 gets you all day access to game consoles, SSF4AE and ST cabinets, as well as other games all for .25 a pop. Amazing competition, tons of fighting game players come here. Fighting game tournaments, YGO tournies, MTG tournies, games, joysticks (for rent and purchase), and other odds and ends. Amazing place.

Star Worlds Arcade

Great little arcade (emphasis on little), hidden on the outskirts of town. I had a lot of fun going here as a reward after exams at NIU(Yes, THAT NIU).

He says, as I wear a Star Worlds shirt.

I live about 10 minutes away from Star Worlds. Let me put this in perspective. Packed in this little hole in the wall are 42 games, including at least six pinballs at any one time. The oldest arcade left in existence, it's been open since 1986, and notable people have been there such as Walter Day, "Trickman" Terry Minnich, Isaiah "TriForce" Johnson, Todd Rogers, Tim McVey, and so many more I can't list them all. The ownership is the coolest you'll ever meet too. Plus, it looks like an '80s arcade. Lights all over the place, memorabilia lining the walls, tops of the machines, even the ceilings.

If you ever get the chance to go, do it.

It's a pretty cool arcade in the middle of nowhere. They're only open for a few hours a day (normally 7pm-10pm - that's not a typo) - I recently visited it with a friend who lives in Pennsylvania because they happened to be open longer this past weekend.
