I realized I missed the humor bit of the game. My favortite line of the entire game is;
"Raiden you must take a DOOMP."

I was a pretty big fan of Bayonetta and Vanquish is actually in my "To play" list while it waits patiently on my shelf. Is this game more like those than it is like MGS for PS1? I haven't played any in the series since that one (how can you top Psycho Mantis?) so will I be lost in the story?
I am still on the fence about this game but your review is pushing me to make a decision...

It's like Bayonetta, and you can just read up a little on wikipedia for what happened if you really want to know but you haven't missed too much.
